We flew to our city, got our luggage, and went out to meet our supervisors. Upon going outside, we read all of the signs people were holding up... and found none for us. We walked over to the tourist police and he asked us for the local contact information we had. He attempted calling the number for our supervisors. The number was disconnected. After a few other attempts to get the right number, we discovered that the number we had was not going to do us any good. What were we going to do?
The nice man helping us out had a plan for us, though. He went and got a taxi for us and told us to get in. We handed the taxi driver the paper with the address with it and we were off driving through the city and getting our first taste of the beautiful landscape. The mountains are huge and gorgeous! After stopping and asking for directions several times, we arrived at the address. The taxi driver knocked on the gate and walked in while Kallie and I waited in anticipation. I was half afraid we were just going to be dropped off there with all of our luggage and nobody to help us. Then, we heard a familiar slightly southern female voice. We jumped out of the car to see one of our supervisors with a very surprised and slightly confused look on her face! She thought that we were arriving on Friday. We were two days earlier than she had figured. Actually, it was a blessing that we arrived at that time as she was getting ready to leave for a meeting with the Family. We are blessed with very relaxed supervisors. They took us to the meeting with them where everyone was quite amused to discover that we had arrived.
It's been an adventure ever since, and I'm sure the adventure will never stop, especially for the next six months.
